The products have been collected from April 7th till April 16th, 2014. Then they will be delivered to 27 charitable and social organizations: orphanages, retirement homes, rehabilitation centers, charity dining rooms etc. in each of 18 cities-participants. METRO Cash & Carry will make additional in-kind donation and its employees will pay visits to the supported organizations bringing food as well as attention and Easter mood to their inhabitants. Event is holding from April 7th till April 16th in 27METRO Cash & Carry stores in 18 Ukrainian cities Kyiv, Lviv, Odessa, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Makiivka, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Mariupol, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsya, Zaporizhya, Poltava, Kryviy Rih, Mykolayiv, Chernivtsi and Rivne.During this event participants visited any of 27 METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine stores bought and left in specially arranged baskets next to the METRO stores exit. This year over 8 tonns of food products with value over 216 thousands UAH have been collected at over 27 METRO Cash & Carry stores.
All collected food volunteers of charity fund " Food Bank" together with METRO staff passed over to 27 charity and social organizations in each city where action took place. Among the others food have been passed to Mykolayiv regional child house, Lutuginska (Luhansk) special whole-day school, "Karitas" and "Svitanok Dityam" international charity funds (Kiev), Lyarsh-Kovcheg" (Lviv). On top of goods collected by customers METRO Cash & Carry added own charity contribution.

• Most food producers in dangerous regions of Ukraine are closing down production. Stocks of products in warehouses are gradually depleted. In those conditions, the importance of food aid from other regions and abroad is growing significantly.
  
  
• Humanitarian aid from Estonian and Romanian friends, food products from Ukrainian producers and retailers - we are delivering everything to people as soon as possible and with safety conditions. New volunteers, guys from local TROs - all join the work!
