This year we celebrated the World Food Day on October 17th. Traditionally, the most needed products were collected for the elderly, large families and families of migrants. These are including rice, buckwheat, pearl, peas, sugar, macaroni, oil, canned fish, tea, coffee and cookies. The employees of Cargill, METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine and Hearst Shkulev Ukraine and Food Bank Ukraine actively participated. Thanks to everyone who was collecting products and money, all who packed, loaded and coordinated! Thanks also to Nestle Ukraine and Mondelez Ukraine - coffee and pastries are well-complemented with grocery kits and give recipients some extra flavors. In total 72 packages came out, each one will last for at least a month as the basic menu for a family, lonely old men or women . All collected food was transferred to Charity Fund Caritas Kyiv. The old people just finished their meeting, made new plans and were very happy to receive grocery packages. Many families with children have also gathered together there. Metro staff used that opportunity and handed over previously collected toys and books.
So the products were transferred, 72 families felt relieved in planning their budget for a meal for the next month or two.
Thanks again to all volunteers !!!
